Treasure detail

Hungary Turul and Crown of St. Stephen

Under Review

Description: This individual postage stamp features an intricate, fine-line intaglio engraving printed in a distinct olive-green ink over an elegant salmon or pink-toned paper stock. The central design depicts the Turul, a divine mythological falcon from Hungarian foundation lore, soaring majestically with fully outstretched wings directly over the detailed Holy Crown of Hungary. This royal composition is framed inside a sweeping classical arch wrapped with detailed laurel branch wreaths along the lower flanks. The top of the frame carries the state postal authority text "MAGYAR KIR. POSTA" (Royal Hungarian Post), while the lower portion isolates a large numeric denomination "60" centered over a decorative horizontal banner labeled "FILLÉR". The physical specimen is cleanly bounded by standard paper perforations on all sides and carries a prominent black ink postal cancel running across the upper third of the design.
