Description: This philatelic item is an authentic 1-drachma (1 ΔΡΑΧ.) denomination definitive postage stamp issued by the government of Greece as part of their celebrated Ancient Greek Art series. Printed via a fine line-engraving process in a deep chocolate-brown ink over a cream-colored paper stock, the central design features the right-facing profile portrait of a classical marble sculpture known as the "Head of a Youth". The country name "ΕΛΛΑΣ" (Hellas) descends vertically down the lower right margin, while the currency valuation anchors the bottom-left corner against a background of crisp, horizontal shading lines. This particular used copy has been preserved on a fragment of its original paper envelope backing, retaining a partial circular ink postal cancellation stamp on the left edge.
