Description: This individual postage stamp features a highly detailed, multi-colored reproduction of a fourteenth-century Byzantine icon depicting the Archangel Michael. The central portrait showcases the angelic commander with wavy brown hair, a soft halo, and feathered wings peeking from behind his green and gold robes while he stoically holds a ceremonial staff or lance. The lower border features a solid blue banner framing the white text country designation "ΕΛΛΑΣ" (Hellas) balanced by the denomination "ΔΡ. 2" (2 Drachmai) on the right. The specimen displays standard vertical and horizontal paper perforations along all four outer borders and carries faint, black hand-stamped cancel lines angling across the right side of the illustration.
