Description: This vibrant multi-colored postage stamp from the Republic of Equatorial Guinea honors English football personality Raich Carter (inscribed as Carter / Inglaterra). Released to coincide with the 1974 FIFA World Cup in West Germany, the active graphic layout illustrates a blonde player in a white jersey and red shorts striking a soccer ball mid-air against a bold purple background field. Floating in the upper right quadrant is a detailed portrait of Carter, flanked by the Union Jack flag of the United Kingdom and a golden silhouette of the Jules Rimet Trophy. The composition is bounded by the large vertical word "ECUATORIAL" on the right, balanced by a "0.35 PESETA" face value window in the lower corner.

Circa: 1974

Condition: Mint CTO

Notes:

The 1934 Debut Recognition: The small year "1934" printed on the stamp references the historic international season when Carter earned his very first official cap for the England national team, kicking off a celebrated interwar representative career. Beyond his legendary prowess on the football pitch, Raich Carter was an exceptionally gifted all-around sportsman who simultaneously played first-class cricket for Derbyshire County Cricket Club as a batsman.
