French Allegorical Peace Definitive

Under Review

Description: This stamp is a classic definitive postal issue from France, universally referred to by philatelists as the "Type Paix" or Peace design. Printed in a bright, striking orange-red or rose-red typography ink on off-white paper stock, the visual composition features a full-length allegorical woman who personifies Peace. She wears a long flowing robe cinched with a dark shaded belt and stands calmly, raising an olive branch proudly in her left hand. The upper right quadrant holds the text "POSTES" placed cleanly above the large currency denomination of "50c" (Centimes). A prominent white rectangular plate lines the bottom frame to anchor the inscription "REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE". Tiny signature text is etched directly into the absolute lower margin, identifying painter "P. A. LAURENS" on the right and master engraver "A. DELZERS" on the left.
