Description: This definitive postage stamp from Spain (España) presents a highly detailed, forward-facing bust portrait of General Francisco Franco rendered in a deep violet-brown ink. Part of a widespread administrative design overhaul, the layout features a tightly stippled and cross-hatched background to create a formal textured appearance behind the leader. The upper-left corner contains the face value denomination of 25 Céntimos (25 CTS), positioned clearly inside a dedicated border grid. Centered at the baseline, the bold country inscription "ESPAÑA" rests stacked directly above the functional postal designation "CORREOS". The base margin includes the small, crisp manufacturer's acronym line reading "F.N.M.T.", which stands for the state printer. A series of heavy, parallel black ink machine cancel lines slice horizontally across the entire surface, documenting its passage through the national mail carrier.

Circa: 1940s-1950s

Condition: Used - Hinged

Notes:

This stamp belongs to the highly recognizable "Franco de frente" (Franco from the front) definitive series. The original artwork and master die engraving were executed by the famous security artist José Luis Sánchez-Toda and manufactured in Madrid by the Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre (FNMT).
