Voyager of the Atlantic

Description: This artifact is an original 25-centimo carmine-pink airmail postage stamp issued by Spain as part of a grand commemorative series dedicated to Ibero-American cooperation. The center features a highly detailed, line-engraved portrait of Christopher Columbus, identified by his Spanish name "CRISTÓBAL COLÓN" across the base of the vignette. The top banner proudly reads "CORREO AEREO" above the series title "IBERO AMERICA", signaling its dedicated use on the expanding international air routes bridging Europe with the Americas. Flanked by intricate, geometric border patterns, the face value is displayed in a stylized gothic font reading "25 ESPAÑA Cts.". The bottom margin credits the production to the prestigious British security printing firm Waterlow & Sons Ltd. in London alongside the original portrait engraver, Camilo Delhom.
