Danish Spejder Patrolling

Under Review

Material: Cloth

Size: 75mm w x 15mm h

Description: This narrow woven textile uniform strip features the bold title "SNAPHANERNE" stitched in vibrant red block letters. The insignia is manufactured on a durable, ribbed off-white cotton base canvas with frayed vertical end margins designed for secure folding. The outer edge profiles bear a distinct vertical repeating designator stamp reading "OSKATIK" in red ink, establishing the original commercial fabrication source of the badge.

Circa: Mid to Late 20th Century

Notes:

The title embroidered on this strip translates to "The Snaphances," a historical reference to the seventeenth-century pro-Danish guerrilla fighters who famously resisted Swedish annexation in the Scanian territories. Within Danish scouting history, this proud regional name was chosen by several competitive patrols and local groups, including celebrated units under De Gule Spejdere (The Yellow Scouts of Denmark) and older Det Danske Spejderkorps troops.
