Description: This definitive postage stamp was issued by the Deutsche Bundespost (West Germany) featuring President Theodor Heuss (1884–1963), the first President of West Germany after World War II. Designed by the noted graphic artist Max Bittrof, the stamp shows a distinctive profile portrait of Heuss looking left. It is framed in an opal green/dark green color block, with the text "BUNDESPOST" running vertically along the right side and "DEUTSCHE" sitting horizontally at the base. A large, crisp cream-colored denomination of "90" (Pfennig) anchors the lower-right quadrant. This particular piece is postally used, featuring a classic black steel-crayon wavy-line cancel cutting across the left side.
