Third Reich - Propaganda Icon of the Totalitarian State

Under Review

Description: This is an authentic definitive postage stamp issued by Nazi Germany (Deutsches Reich) during World War II. Printed in a deep steel-blue ink, the minimalist design features the line-engraved profile portrait of Adolf Hitler facing right, set against a solid horizontally lined blue background box. The denomination "20" is displayed symmetrically in both upper corners. The lower margin carries the bold state inscription "DEUTSCHES REICH" in a sharp serif font. This circulated specimen features a heavy, dark circular postal cancellation mark passing directly across the center of the face and hair.

Circa: 1941 - 1945

Condition: Used

Notes:

The Face of Totalitarianism: This stamp belongs to the infamous Hitler Head definitive series (Hitler-Dauerserie), which completely replaced the older Hindenburg series to firmly entrench Nazi imagery into every household. Millions of these stamps were generated daily to serve as the absolute baseline workhorse for standard domestic correspondence during the middle to later years of World War II.
