Description: This vibrant emerald-green postage stamp is the classic 10 Pfennig value from the highly revered Posthorn Series launched by the Federal Republic of Germany's Deutsche Bundespost. The design boasts a clean, vertically balanced layout centered around a large numeric denomination 10, which sits directly above the symbolic brass posthorn with its signature dual hanging tassels. Encircling the core motifs is a highly defined oval band bearing the text "DEUTSCHE BUNDESPOST" in an elegant, structured sans-serif style. The background fields feature a tight, organic leather-like textured pattern.
Circa: 1950s
Condition: Used
Notes:
This Post Horn set is universally recognized by European philatelists as one of the most important, highly collected, and forged definitive series of the postwar era. While the low 10-Pfennig value is quite common, completing a full mint never-hinged set of all sixteen values up to 90-Pfennig is highly challenging, making the series a prime bellwether for the German stamp market.
