East Germany (DDR) Wires of the Five-Year Plan

Under Review

Description: This is an authentic definitive postage stamp issued by the German Democratic Republic (DDR) as part of the famous Five-Year Plan propaganda series. Printed in a distinct bright violet ink, the detailed vignette portrays a focused female teletypist (Fernschreiberin) facing left. She is actively operating a mechanical teleprinter or teletypewriter, with a long strip of punched paper data tape feeding out of the machine's base. On the concrete building structure behind her, a prominent stone-carved post horn and lightning bolt emblem represents the state postal and telegraph service (Deutsche Post). The denomination 15 sits centered near the upper margin. The bottom right features the series' signature "5" economic plan emblem surrounded by wheat ears and a compass. The lower margin carries the bold state title "DEUTSCHE DEMOKRATISCHE REPUBLIK".
