A worker's hammer overlaps a draftsman's compass, entirely enclosed by paired wreaths of rye tied at the base with a striped ribbon. The top text reads "DEUTSCHE DEMOKRATISCHE REPUBLIK". The lower border displays the operational title "DIENSTMARKE" bordered symmetrically on both sides by the premium 60 Pfennig denomination.
