Description: This is an authentic official postage stamp (Dienstmarke) issued by the German Democratic Republic (DDR). Printed in a vivid emerald green, the design centers on the socialist State Emblem: a worker's hammer intersecting a draftsman's compass, surrounded by a wreath of wheat ears. This imagery symbolized the ideologically unified power of the industrial workforce, the intelligentsia, and the farmers. The top panel displays the state name "DEUTSCHE DEMOKRATISCHE REPUBLIK". The bottom panel clearly identifies its function with the text "DIENSTMARKE" (Official Stamp), flanked by the denomination "10" in both corners. Your copy features a heavy black postal cancellation mark, with the letters "...DEN N" visible on the left side, likely indicating a city ending with den (Dresden possibly).
