Description: This carmine-red postage stamp is a definitive issue from the Allied Occupation of Germany (Bi-Zone / American & British Zone), released just before the official founding of West Germany. The design features a bold, simplified architectural rendering of the Brandenburg Gate (Brandenburger Tor), crowned by its famous Quadriga chariot statue. The numeric value 20 sits in the upper right corner, while the bottom panel bears the generic inscription "DEUTSCHE POST" (not yet "Bundespost"). This specific example carries a heavy, black wavy-line postal cancellation.
