Wehrmacht Heer Breast Eagle

Under Review

Material: Cloth

Size: 130mm w x 53mm h

Description: Wehrmacht Heer (German Army) breast eagle insignia, introduced in 1935 and worn throughout the Second World War. The design features a golden-yellow machine-embroidered eagle with outstretched wings, clutching a swastika within a wreath, set on a field-grey cloth backing.

Circa: 1935-1945

Notes:

The breast eagle was a standard item of Wehrmacht uniforms, sewn above the right breast pocket of the service tunic. Thread colors were branch-specific (Waffenfarben), with yellow typically associated with signals units and sometimes Panzergrenadiers. This example represents the standard machine-embroidered production used for enlisted men and NCOs.
