Under Review

Description: This sharply engraved slate-blue definitive stamp from Czechoslovakia highlights an operational engine worker leaning from the cabin window of a moving train. The composition captures the crew member clad in standard textile utility work clothing, looking forward to observe the tracks while holding onto the structural metal framing of the train window. The passing landscape is rendered using dense parallel horizontal line patterns, exhibiting a trailing column of passenger train cars under sweeping columns of atmospheric steam engine smoke trailing past roadside telegraph line poles. Nested inside a clean rectangular framework, the top text track states the country name "ČESKOSLOVENSKO". The upper left corner displays a prominent "2,40 Kčs" face value, while the lower white margin bears the fine micro-printed signatures of the original graphic illustrator and the line engraver. A light, weathered horizontal black line from a postal cancellation mark runs through the lower third of the design to solidify its past usage.
