Czechoslovakian Harvest Allegory

Under Review

Description: This beautiful olive-brown definitive stamp from Czechoslovakia centers on a finely engraved depiction of a young female agricultural worker engaged in the autumn harvest. The woman wears a traditional rural headscarf and simple work attire, wiping sweat from her brow with her right hand while cradling a large, heavy bundle of harvested wheat grain in her left arm. Framed within a clean double-bordered rectangular enclosure, the top margin features the bold country name "ČESKOSLOVENSKO". The lower left corner prominently exhibits the "1 Kčs" face value, while the bottom border is subtly signed with the original names of the master illustrator and the technical line engraver. Faint, dark post office cancellation ink lines run unevenly across the left margin and the baseline to document its completed commercial mailing duties.

Circa: 1954-1961

Condition: Used - Hinged

Notes:

This design was part of a popular multi-stamp definitive release tracking diverse industrial and agrarian trades, an artistic trend across post-war Eastern Europe celebrating everyday manual laborers rather than political figures.
