Cyprus King George VI Vouni Palace

Under Review

Description: This authentic vintage postage stamp was issued by the British colonial administration in Cyprus as part of a highly detailed definitive pictorial series. Printed in a striking combination of slate-blue and orange-brown ink, the central vignette illustrates the historic ruins of the Vouni Palace overlooking the northern sea coast. The ancient stone foundations and terraced structures are framed by an elegant archway design characteristic of classic British colonial stamp engraving. Nestled inside a prominent oval medallion in the upper-right corner is the formal portrait profile of King George VI facing toward the left. The top border proudly states the territory name CYPRUS in stylized, open capital lettering, while the bottom border contains the denomination word PIASTRE flanked by two small corner boxes displaying the fractional value 1/4.
