Material: Gilt brass
Size: 30mm × 30mm
Description: This artifact is an original British or Commonwealth military uniform rank insignia identifying a Warrant Officer Class 2 (WO2). The die-struck brass insignia prominently features the St. Edward's Crown (Queen's Crown) with its signature dipping side arches, a central cross pattée, alternating fleurs-de-lis, and an embossed ermine band along the base rim. The crown is mounted securely onto a flat, solid brass circular backing disc that provides structural support when pinned to a heavy wool garment. The metal displays a beautifully aged, authentic yellowish-green tarnish and localized oxidation spots that highlight the structural depth of the casting. The reverse features an unmarked surface equipped with original dual mounting lugs, an iron split cotter pin, and a removable stabilizing washer plate.
