Description: This artifact is an authentic late-nineteenth-century Canadian postage stamp belonging to the iconic "Numeral Issue" of the Post Office Department. Expertly line-engraved and printed in a vibrant carmine rose ink, the central vignette features a timeless, left-facing portrait of Queen Victoria in her senior years. The portrait is enclosed within an oval band inscribed with "CANADA POSTAGE" along the top arch and the denomination "2 CENTS" at the bottom base. Stylized maple leaves fill each of the upper corners, while large Arabic numerals "2" are prominently displayed in the lower corners to assist non-English speakers with denomination recognition. This used example features standard 12-gauge linear perforations and bears a heavy, black wavy-line slogan cancellation mark across its face.
