Treasure detail

Her Majesty the Queen

Under Review

Description: The stamp features an elegant, finely engraved profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II rendered in a deep violet or purple monochrome ink. Based on a photograph taken by noted royal portrait photographer Dorothy Wilding, the Queen is shown facing slightly right while wearing the glittering Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara. The design is symmetrically balanced with the royal cypher "EIIR" nestled in both the upper left and upper right corners. The lower section displays the face value "4¢" in both corners, framing the country name "CANADA" printed horizontally along the bottom border. Small inscriptions reading "POSTES" and "POSTAGE" run underneath the values, honoring the nation's bilingual English and French postal heritage.
