Description: This beautiful se-tenant multiple features a block of six stamps from a larger sheet honoring historic maritime transport. The configuration displays three individual pairs of illustrated historical vessels: the Athabasca, a grand passenger ship operating on the Great Lakes; the Chicora, an iconic paddle steamer with dual smokestacks; the Northcote, a rugged flat-bottomed sternwheeler famed for its role in the North-West Rebellion; and the Passport, an iron-hulled paddle boat. Designed by Tom Bjarnason, the illustrations realistically recreate each ship using fine line drawings overlaid with specific, muted color fills like green, blue, brown, and purple to give the collection a cohesive historical aesthetic.
