Canada 1967 Expo 67 Commemorative Stamp

Under Review

Description: The horizontal commemorative stamp showcases the striking Canadian Pavilion, dominated by the massive, inverted pyramid structure known as the Katimavik. Stylized geometric peaks mimicking mountain ranges flank the lower half of the blue engraving. The top border features the word "CANADA" in a bold serif typeface, while the left side displays both English and French language markings reading "POSTES POSTAGE" positioned right underneath the official circular Expo 67 emblem. The lower edge grounds the design with a large, bright red "expo67" text treatment and a oversized "5" denoting the denomination.

Circa: 1967

Condition: Used

Notes:

The giant inverted pyramid central to the stamp design was named Katimavik, an Inuit word meaning "gathering place". It served as the visual anchor for Canada's host pavilion, towering over 100 feet tall and housing multiple structural exhibition galleries that drew millions of global visitors over the course of the fair.
