Highland Fusiliers of Canada Shoulder Flash

Under Review

Material: Embroidered cloth (yellow thread on green field with blue backing)
Size: 128mm w x 40mm h
Description: This curved shoulder title belongs to the Highland Fusiliers of Canada, a distinguished Primary Reserve infantry unit of the Canadian Army. The patch is constructed using a multi-layered wool felt technique, featuring a central forest-green felt banner layered on top of a broader royal blue felt backing cloth. Machine-embroidered in high-visibility golden-yellow thread is the three-line stacked unit designation "HIGHLAND FUSILIERS / OF / CANADA". The green banner is securely affixed to the blue wool using a tight, matching green chain-link border stitch to ensure long-term structural durability. This specific specimen represents an exceptional, unissued or carefully removed example with crisp felt edges and vibrant thread saturation, free of typical moth damage or heavy uniform wear.

Circa: 1965-1980s

Notes:
This shoulder title represents The Highland Fusiliers of Canada, a Primary Reserve infantry regiment of the Canadian Army based in Cambridge, Ontario. The regiment was formed in 1965 through the amalgamation of The Highland Light Infantry of Canada and The Scots Fusiliers of Canada. Cloth shoulder titles such as this were worn on Canadian Army service dress and battledress uniforms to identify the soldier’s regiment. The distinctive arch shape follows a tradition common among Commonwealth infantry regiments.
