Obverse: This standard circulation 1969 Canadian one-dollar coin is struck from a solid, pure nickel composition. The obverse side displays the elegant, right-facing second effigy portrait of a young Queen Elizabeth II wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara, beautifully modeled by the acclaimed British sculptor Arnold Machin. Running smoothly along the outer circumference is a highly detailed, crisp denticle border enclosing the formal Latin royal legend reading "ELIZABETH II D • G • REGINA" (Elizabeth II, by the Grace of God, Queen). The silver-coloured surface exhibits a bright metallic sheen with minor handling scuffs, hairline scratches, and subtle localized toning inside the deep relief lines of the hair and drapery, characteristic of a well-preserved piece that saw very light circulation.
Reverse: Voyageur and Indigenous guide paddling a canoe, with bundles marked “HP” (for Humphrey Paget, designer of the obverse). Stylized northern lights appear above; CANADA DOLLAR 1969 below.
