Army Cadets Green Star Qualification Patch

Under Review

Material: Cloth

Size: 32mm

Description: This original, machine-embroidered military youth organization qualification patch takes the unmistakable shape of a five-pointed star. The central core features a tight satin stitch configuration in a vibrant, high-contrast bright lime green thread, while a raised, chunky border stitched in drab olive-brown framing encapsulates the entire outer perimeter. This unbacked cloth insignia was meticulously produced using dense cotton threading over a stiff canvas matrix, specifically designed to be sewn flatly onto the upper sleeve of a heavy olive-drab cadet uniform jacket.

Circa: Mid to Late 20th Century

Notes:

Within the Royal Canadian Army Cadets (RCAC) training syllabus, the Green Star insignia signifies the successful completion of the first full year of instruction, focusing heavily on basic wilderness survival, citizenship, military drill, and fundamental map reading.
