Description: This detailed, solid metal openwork insignia showcases a central Canadian beaver perched atop a horizontal log, entirely enclosed within a traditional circular Garter band. The motto "HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE" is crisply embossed in raised lettering around the circular frame, which is flanked at the base by multi-pointed clusters of native maple leaves. A prominent, detailed Tudor Crown surmounts the upper rim of the loop, while a stylized, flowing scroll banner grounds the entire base with the raised regimental initials "R.C.A.P.C."
Reverse: Plain gilt finish with two copper lugs for split pin fastening.
Circa: 1920–1952
Notes:
The Royal Canadian Army Pay Corps (R.C.A.P.C.) was responsible for all financial administration and soldier pay within the Canadian Army during both World Wars. The design follows British heraldic tradition, featuring the Order of the Garter motto surrounding Canada’s national symbol, the beaver.
