Material: Gilt brass.
Size: 25 mm.
Description: This domed brass uniform button features a bold, raised relief pattern displaying a fouled anchor horizontally encircled by a twisted rope ring. Stamped directly across the center is the uppercase geographic identifier "CANADA", positioned beneath a detailed representation of the Tudor style King's Crown. The face of the metal shows a highly detailed background of horizontal, tight-lined texture bounded tightly by an integrated, outer rope-twist circular rim. Turning the piece over reveals a sturdy wire mounting shank alongside the crisp, debossed workshop signature of William Scully Limited, Montreal, the country's most renowned historic military regalia producer.
Circa: 1902–1952.
Notes:
Most likely in the 1940s range for style and manufacture.
