Royal Canadian Mounted Police Button

Under Review

Material: Gilt brass with silvered finish, or Staybrite front and brass back - still confused
Diameter: 20 mm
Description: This domed white-metal button is an authentic piece of historical uniform hardware fielded by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). The intricately detailed face displays a central bison head surrounded by a formal garter ribbon reading "Maintiens le Droit" (Maintain the Right), enclosed within a sweeping wreath of Canadian maple leaves and topped by the modern St. Edward's Crown. Strikingly finished in silver rather than gold, this specific variant was manufactured exclusively for mounting onto the heavy dark-blue Greatcoats, pea jackets, and winter fur caps worn by officers during sub-zero operations. The heavy silver plating provided high visibility against dark winter fabrics while protecting the underlying structural metal from severe outdoor weathering.
