Description: This vintage brass uniform button serves as the standard General Service (GS) pattern for the Canadian Army. The front face features a crisp, die-struck design centered around a multi-veined Canadian maple leaf nestled within a circular Order of the Garter band. The band is embossed with the classic monarchical motto "HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE," which translates from Anglo-Norman French to "Shame on him who thinks evil of it." This entire central assembly is surmounted by a detailed Tudor-style King's Crown (KC), while the word "CANADA" arches prominently along the top rim in raised block lettering.
