Description: This item is a vintage, die-stamped brass collar badge issued to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). The insignia showcases a centralized bison head facing directly forward, enclosed within a raised oval garter band carrying the force's traditional French motto "Maintiens le Droit" (Maintain the Right). The central oval is flanked by two dense sprays of Canadian maple leaves and is topped by a prominent Tudor (King's) Crown. A flowing, multi-part banner stretches across the bottom portion, carrying the text "Royal Canadian Mounted Police" in crisp relief lettering. The reverse side features a small structural reinforcement plate affixed behind the hollow crown casting and bears two broken copper wire attachment loops.
