Lanark and Renfrew Scottish Regiment Collar Insignia

Under Review

Material: White metal
Size: 30 mm W × 32 mm H
Description: This artifact is an authentic, post-World War II Canadian military uniform collar insignia issued for members serving within The Lanark and Renfrew Scottish Regiment. Struck in a beautiful bimetallic presentation of silver-plated white metal and gilding brass, the central layout portrays a detailed, texturized double-headed eagle with outspread wings, modeled after the historic crest of the town of Renfrew, Scotland. The central heraldic bird is framed by a polished oval band carrying the embossed title "LANARK AND RENFREW SCOTTISH," which is anchored along the base by a sweeping decorative motto ribbon reading "FAC ET SPERA" (Do and Hope) centered over the historic "42" lineage numerals. A finely detailed Queen's Crown (St. Edward's Crown) surmounts the top of the insignia oval, denoting its mid-century commonwealth manufacturing pedigree.
Reverse: Unmarked with dual clutch-back fasteners.
Circa: 1959-1968
Notes:

The lineage of the unit begins on October 5, 1866, when it was originally raised as the 42nd Brockville Battalion of Infantry to protect the Canadian frontier from regional border skirmishes. Following administrative reorganizations at the turn of the century, the strategic unit officially transitioned into a highland unit in 1927, adopting traditional Scottish uniform customs, kilts, and a distinct regimental pipe band. Today, the unbroken lineage of this historic military unit continues to serve actively in the Canadian Army Reserve as the 42nd Field Artillery Regiment (Lanark and Renfrew Scottish), RCA, operating out of its headquarters base in Pembroke, Ontario.
