Material: Gilt brass
Size: 28 mm w × 26 mm h
Description: This die-stamped brass collar badge is worn by officers of the Cadet Instructors Cadre assigned to Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadrons. The insignia features a sharp three-pointed Canadian maple leaf base surmounted by a post-1953 St. Edward's Crown at the top apex. A detailed eagle with fully outstretched wings is superimposed across the center of the leaf, gliding above two crossed ceremonial branches nestled near the stem base.
Circa: Post 1968
Notes:
The Cadet Instructors Cadre is a unique branch of the Canadian Armed Forces whose members are specially trained to develop good citizenship and leadership attributes in youth. These specific badges are worn in matching pairs on the lapels of the service dress jacket, which explains why it utilizes dual post backings ("dammits") to prevent the insignia from rotating out of alignment on a uniform cloth collar.
