Dimensions: 50 mm w × 50 mm h
Description: This military artifact is a bi-metal cap badge issued to The Perth Regiment, a historic infantry unit of the Canadian Army based out of Stratford, Ontario. The complex design features a large, central gilding metal maple leaf surmounted by a King's Tudor Crown. Superimposed on the leaf is a white metal circular title scroll reading "THE PERTH REGIMENT", which encloses a small heraldic shield topped by a Canadian beaver. The lower portion displays a flowing banner scroll bearing the regiment's Latin motto, "AUDAX ET CAUTUS" (meaning "Bold and Cautious"). This entire central maple leaf assembly is set against a large, polished white metal Saltire, or St. Andrew's Cross, which is beautifully flanked by two detailed Scottish thistles. The reverse side features the maker's mark for Scully Ltd. Montreal paired with traditional fixing loops.
