Royal Canadian Armoured Corps Staybrite Cap Badge

Under Review

Material: Staybrite (Anodized Aluminum)
Size: 30mm w × 40mm h
Description: This striking mid-20th century military cap insignia serves as the official uniform emblem for the Royal Canadian Armoured Corps (RCAC). It is constructed using an anodized aluminum process commonly known as "Staybrite". This technique provides a vibrant gold and silver contrast that never tarnishes or requires polishing. The design features a bold, central silver-toned mailed fist (gauntlet) clutching a small maple leaf, layered over a block inscribed with the word "CANADA". This centerpiece is framed by a golden circular border formed by two interlocking concentric arrows, representing armored pincer movements. The entire emblem is ensigned by the St. Edward’s (Queen's) Crown. The reverse side remains unmarked and utilizes a classic vertical slider tab meant for securing the badge tightly to a wool beret or service dress cap.
Circa: 1960-1968
