Royal Canadian Mounted Police Enamelled Cap Badge

Under Review

Material: Gilt brass with blue enamel and red enamel crown
Size: 50mm w × 60mm h
Description: The high-relief insignia showcases a central golden prairie buffalo bust encircled by a deep blue enameled garter strap bearing the official national motto "MAINTIENS LE DROIT" in polished relief lettering. Flanking this central medallion is a beautifully detailed, multi-layered wreath of Canadian maple leaves that meets at a small rectangular block inscribed with the word "CANADA." Surmounting the entire heraldic assembly is a prominent St. Edward's Crown detailed with a brilliant crimson red enamel background fill. The bottom tier anchors the design with a sweeping, fluid blue scroll that cleanly spells out the agency's name, "ROYAL CANADIAN MOUNTED POLICE," across three connected segments.
Circa: 1953-2022 (Still in active service until replacement with Kings Crown)
Notes:

Government protocols specify that there is no immediate requirement to replace existing insignia. Instead, Canadian federal agencies and the military are introducing the new Canadian Royal Crown design systematically over a multi-year transition period. Metal badges and uniform items are being updated strictly on an attrition basis, meaning old stocks of the St. Edward’s Crown badges must be fully depleted before new uniform pieces are manufactured and distributed.
