Material: Brass
Size: 30 mm w × 50 mm h
Description: This artifact is an original Second World War era Canadian military cap badge belonging to the 8th Canadian Hussars (Princess Louise's), a distinguished armored unit originally raised in the colony of New Brunswick. The brass badge features a coronet resting atop a circular garter band inscribed with the unit's wartime designation, "PRINCESS LOUISE'S N.B. HUSSARS". The center features the striking Roman numeral "VIII," representing its legacy as the eighth cavalry regiment. The base is completed by a decorative motto scroll reading "REGI PATRIAEQUE FIDELIS," which translates from Latin to "Faithful to King and Country". This design reflects the regiment's deep historical ties to the United Empire Loyalists who originally settled the Canadian Maritimes.
Circa: 1920-1952
