Description: This prominent military insignia serves as the official uniform cap badge for the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Highlanders. Cast in durable white metal for Other Ranks, the design features a large St. Andrew’s Cross (saltire) ensigned with a classic King's Tudor Crown. The central circular banner is proudly embossed with the text "Glengarry Fencibles" alongside the initials "SDG". The lower half of the badge features a cluster of maple leaves and Scotch thistle flowers supporting a flowing ribbon inscribed with the Scottish Gaelic motto "Dileas Gu Bas," meaning "Faithful Unto Death". At the very heart of the arrangement rests the Macdonell crest, portraying a raven perched securely upon a rock. The reverse side of this specific piece features dual wire attachment lugs that show historic modifications for more comfortable wear on a traditional woolen glengarry bonnet.
