RCEME King's Crown Badge

Under Review

Material: Gilt brass
Size: 21 mm w × 39 mm h
Description: This striking piece of Canadian military heritage features three distinct heraldic shields arranged symmetrically within a sweeping laurel wreath. The top shield bears the historic Board of Ordnance arms showing three stacked field cannons, while the left and right shields display three jagged lightning bolts and a mechanical cogwheel respectively to symbolize electrical and mechanical engineering disciplines. Surmounting the entire open-work design is a detailed King's Tudor Crown, while the base is anchored by a structured scroll that proudly bears the raised initials "R•C•E•M•E".
Reverse: Two original copper lugs for split pin attachment; unmarked
Circa: 1944–1953
Notes:

The Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME) was officially formed in 1944 during the height of the Second World War to combat the increasing complexity of mechanical warfare by combining maintenance units from the Ordnance, Army Service, and Engineers corps.
