Description: This official military headdress insignia represents the Cadet Instructors Cadre (CIC) branch of the Canadian Armed Forces. The bright gold-anodized metal badge is formed in the distinct silhouette of a single jagged Canadian maple leaf. Superimposed at the center is a complex tri-service heraldic arrangement featuring a high-relief naval fouled anchor, two crossed army crusader swords, and a soaring air force eagle catching its wings spread wide in mid-flight. A majestic St. Edward's (Queen's) Crown crowns the upper apex of the leaf. While sharing the exact same front face die as the standard tri-service recruit badge, this branch badge uniquely identified officers specifically commissioned to train, administer, and supervise the Royal Canadian Sea, Army, and Air Cadets. The reverse side shows a hollow-struck mirror composition where the vertical attachment slider mechanism has been broken off from the base.
