Signal of the Commercial Post

Under Review

Description: This distinctive vintage definitive postage stamp from the Kingdom of Belgium (BELGIQUE-BELGIE) features a powerful combination of a baseline national motif and a heavy functional overprint. The background design portrays the iconic Belgian Heraldic Lion Rampant, rendered in a crisp carmine-pink ink over a fine, repeating grid layout. Stamped heavily over the central vignette in black ink is an official typographic precancel overprint consisting of a classic looped post horn cradled symmetrically between two block dates. The upper date reads "1955" while the lower date reads "1956", flanking the musical horn emblem. The bilingual country name "BELGIQUE-BELGIE" is subtly integrated along the lowest horizontal border line of the inner frame, representing both the French and Dutch speaking communities of the nation. The piece is framed by sharp, ivory-toned margins showing immaculate, uniform comb perforations on all sides.
