Airborne Brevet

Description: This metal insignia Military Parachutist Badge awarded to qualified personnel who successfully completed military jump instruction. The heavy brass insignia centers a beautifully contoured parachute canopy with clean shroud lines that converge downward onto a crisp, five-pointed guiding star. The entire central canopy is supported by the expansive, upward-swept wings of Saint Michael, layered against a delicate background wreath of oak and laurel leaves that symbolize strength and military achievement.
Circa: Mid 20th Century
Notes:
Possible Middle East or African design, similar style to French wings, may imply related colonial territory.
