Treasure detail

Australian King George V Five Pence Stamp

Under Review

Description: The stamp exhibits an ornate, rectangular frame centered around the left-facing side profile head of King George V housed within a circular band. Arcing elegantly over the central portrait is the country designation, while the lower margin explicitly displays the face value currency text and numeric denominations nestled inside decorative corner cartouches. Mirroring each other on either side of the inner circle are a finely detailed kangaroo and an emu, while the entire composition is crowned by a grand royal emblem at the top peak. A heavy black circular date cancellation stamp cleanly reading "193-" is applied upside down directly over the center of the chestnut-brown face.
