Architect of South American Freedom

Description: This elegant, monochromatic brown definitive postage stamp features a highly detailed, hand-engraved portrait of General Manuel Belgrano, one of the primary founding fathers of Argentina and the creator of its national flag. He is depicted in a three-quarter view facing right, dressed in a high-collared early 19th-century military coat with an intricately tied cravat. The portrait is beautifully framed within a rounded archway, accented on the left and right sides by climbing laurel wreaths that symbolize victory and honor. The inscription "REPUBLICA ARGENTINA" runs boldly along the top border, while his name, "MANUEL BELGRANO," is neatly placed in a small banner directly beneath the portrait. The lower right corner displays the low fraction denomination of "1/2 c" (half centavo).
